Praying for the sick

I will be having prayer and anointing with oil tomorrow. In the Bible it says if anyone is sick they should call the leaders of the church together to pray for and anoint with oil the one who is sick in the name of Jesus and they will be healed. I know that God is able to heal me, no doubt. There are lots of questions that I have about how God heals, who He heals, when He heals and why He may not heal. These questions need not be answered right now. At this time, my trust in God is as simplistic as just doing what He says. It is in the book of James in the Bible if you are looking, chapter 5.

If you are able to pray with us at 2pm Western Australia time, wherever you are if time suits, I would really value your prayers. I woke up this morning feeling so much better than last night. I know people have been praying. If praying isn’t your thing, please know that your thoughts, support and encouragement has been, and continues to be, so important for us and we value it more than you will ever know.

We are thankful to you all.

Hi Cam and Elizabeth, we wanted you to know that you are always in our thoughts and constantly in our earnest prayers. We will be praying for you here in London at 2.00pm your time tomorrow. Take heart our dearest friends, all things as you know, are possible with God. His ways are often mysterious to us, but His wisdom and power are infinite, and He already has the victory over all things in this world. I am always reminded of the parable in Luke that Jesus told his disciples “to show them that they should always pray and not give up” (Luke 18:1-8) – we will never stop praying for you.

Rather than work out the time difference here in Italy i figure i will break early and start the ball rolling. Really want to be there with you guys and but very good to know that you are being well cared and well prayed for. Love you all. I am too upset that you are in pain and physical suffering and want to give you all the hot packs (or cold packs) to take away the pains but instead I will just keep calling and praying.

I am on standby to mobilise the OT forces at SCGH for all your occupational needs. I also have 1 hour of european video footage to send back if you desire. Not sure that today will be that interesting to watch – it is raining and misty over lake como and Juan has a migrane and is as entertaining as Rainman. Still like him tho.

Love to the walk beside family for everything.

Tomorrow, at 2p.m, I am becoming a wild Pentecostal.

Yes, I know God’s will is unknown. Yes, I have prayed for for healing before but have not witnessed 100% miracles. Yes, I know there were people in the Bible who were never healed from their own inflictions. Yes, my theological understanding is enough to cope with a God that may not always heal.

But not tomorrow.

Tomorrow I’m freakin’ put on my white suit and looking for a miracle. I’m not praying for anything else.

I’m a friend of Mike and Rachel’s from the annual special camp they go to. I’ve been ‘walking beside’ here, albeit silently, since her blog linked to yours.
Just wanted to let you know… I’ll be mentioning your name (strongly!) to a mutual Friend of ours today. You are engraved on the palm of His hand, and I am glad I can see glimpses of that artwork here.

Woke up this morning at 5AM, couln’t sleep. Spent some time reading the Bible, then had a surf on the net. I got to your website at 1.50 pm Perth time and was blown away to see that you were asking for prayer at your annointing in 10 min! Although not initially, I am so grateful for God’s tap on the shoulder.
You are our brother in Christ and when one part of his body is hurting, we all feel it. Thank you for enabling us to share this ride with you. (clogs and all)
We may be on the other side of the globe, but we’re with you both.
love Pip.
p.s You’ll be in our prayers tomorrow too when you go for more biopsies.

Hi Cam,
We’re good friends of Carms & John and have had you and Elizabeth in our prayers for many months now, including today at 2pm. This is our first visit to your blog and to say it is inspirational is an understatement. Your faith and strength are such admirable qualities. We will continue to pray for you, Elizabeth and the rest of your family. With love, Angela, Mark & Ruby. ps love your quirky sense of humor!

Being able to take part in todays prayer for healing was a absolute blessing. There was a real sense of God’s love and compassion in that room. You are both very special people and the Lord has his hand over you lives. Well loved, respected, and true ambassadors for God’s mercy.

Whatever the future path will bring, God has used you to touch peoples hearts. You certainly have both touched mine.
Thankyou for letting me journey with you . . . and not laughing at my white suit. Love you guys. James

Hi Cam & Liz,

We, too are praying for you constantly, but made a point of sitting down together to pray for you and with you at 2pm today.
May our God, the one and only God of miracles heal you today, that His name will be glorified!

Love, Diane, Craig, Braden & Cam.

Cameron and Elizabeth,

We were with you yesterday and have been and will continue to remember you all in our prayers. Can’t match the eloquence of your other commentators.

Man, I step out for a week and miss all of this! Like Cons, I’ll have to make 2pm a regular thing… just seems a suitable idea.

So – how are you feeling?

Does this mean you won’t be going the ‘nude-nut’?

Hey, your home page just changed!!
Your home page is now very hom-ey, Home-boy!!

So – seriously, how are you feeling?

Oh, and were photos taken of the white suit? If he went genuinely TV Land Penty, then this was a great photo op!
