The next move

It has taken me a while to get my act together, but I think I am getting there, wherever ‘there’ is. Still somewhat recovering from being sick, and I haven’t been able to hear out of one ear since we went away the other week.

Other than that, these last few weeks have been spent coming to terms with a new chapter of living, and hopefully living without too much treatment. In this, decisions have had to be made regarding how to spend my time and how much my body can physically cope with. I was getting ready to fire up the silver business a bit more, but after doing an order last week, I don’t think I could take on too much physically, not just now.

So at the moment, I have decided to continue with the silver business as is and continue developing the educational website. I am also going back to Uni part-time doing a Grad Cert in Film and Video. The focus is on documentary production and I am pretty excited by the course outlines. It just seems the perfect time to do some learning – something to get the mind ticking over while the body takes its time to catch up.

I have also started another website that is dedicated just to writings about various topics. I decided a while back that I didn’t want to have a crossover with The Walk Beside as it mainly deals with a personal experience. These other writings will focus more on opinions and questions that are good to get down on paper, or pixels. I am still constructing it at the moment, but should be up next week.

For the record, my hair is growing back. Yes, everywhere where it is supposed to.

Nice. You gonna call the website “The Silver Tounge”?
You know – Tounge as in talking, Silver as in your business…hang on, just checking….
Oh, it’s already taken..Damn you “The Future Of British Theatre”

Anyway, hair growing back is a good thing. I can get rid of the stockpile I was making for you from my “dropoffs”

Hi Cameron and Elizabeth,
I am so pleased you are in as good nick as you are today. You have had (and shared) a rugged, gruesome year and no one can know the depths of your struggles (emotional, mental and physical)

It is incredible that you share as candidly as you do, but none of us are really walking in your shoes – walking beside, maybe, but on our own track.

You are an encouragement and inspiration, even when you’re too sick to believe I speak truly. You’d rather be well than be congratulated on handling sickness well.

Is the hero born, or made?? I mean, if you pull a child out of a burning house aren’t you a hero? It could happen to anyone, and most unwillingly we may act, but responding positively in drastic circumstances is heroic.

You do it because you have to.

God bless you.

Now, this is gonna sound a bit thick (stop me if you’ve heard that one before!), but what exactly is the current state of your health?

All I seem to hear now are positive things.
Whilst that is a wonderful thing, it’s significantly different from what was going on only a month or 2 ago.

Are we expecting further good news as time progresses, or are we in a lull before a storm, or did I dream that you had MM and really, this blog has just been about providing a comic release for The Guy?

While the news is good, I am simply glad.

Great to hear about some future directions as well. You’ll do well.

I’m still holding onto that pick for you,
Toddy
